Houston church gives away free mammograms in honor of breast cancer awareness month

HOUSTON- October 14, 2019— The Lighthouse Church of Houston is celebrating their 10 year anniversary by providing free mammograms to uninsured women during their breast cancer awareness initiative for the community on October 26-27, 2019 at 6650 Rankin Rd, Humble, TX 77396.
On Saturday, October 26, at 9 AM, the church is hosting a 5K walk entitled “Walk of Faith” in honor of breast cancer awareness. The Humble community will have access to mammogram scheduling in partnership with The Rose Foundation. Sunday, October 27, Kim Roxie will speak on behalf of The Rose Foundation at 9AM and 11AM. During the service times, The Lighthouse Church of Houston will announce their donation to The Rose Foundation to ensure several uninsured women in their congregation can receive free mammograms.
The Lighthouse Church has been consistent in their giving impact for the Houston community. Throughout many outreach efforts, the Lighthouse Church has served more than 200,000 meals in the local community and led disaster aid initiatives in Texas and other states. Ministerial areas include a connect group, "Living Optimistic On Purpose" for parents with special needs children, and bereavement support. Community outreach and partnerships include The Office of the Mayor-City of Houston, The Houston Police Department, The United Way, Humble Area Assistance Ministries, The Houston Food Bank and more.
